Shoot the zebra

Tonight, some kids we know from high school needed an extra player for their basketball team, so they asked Brett to play with them. On the very first play of the game, the Ref called a foul on Brett, Brett didn't say anything to him, and then the Ref started smack talking out of nowhere. (Ref = old fat guy) This is the conversation they had.

Ref: Have you ever played basketball in your life?
Brett: A lot more than you.
Ref: How old are you?
Brett: 23
Ref: That's what I thought, I'm 3 times your age. I played college basketball, look me up.
Brett: Alright, whats your name?
Ref: William E Carpenter, College of the South.

This Ref was somethin else.
As the game actually started, the Ref started to see how good Brett is.

Ref: oh, you're getting in your groove aren't ya? You really know how to play.

What a quality Ref, doing rec leagues.

We bought Brett a new suit tonight! He's been wanting one for over a year. I found a killer deal at JCPenney. His goal has been to look like one of these guys...
Seriously, when Brett was trying the suit on, he kept looking at this picture, then back at himself.
He makes me happy.

Me and Brett watch this video like...50 times a day. These girls are so talented, and they get better and better every time I watch it.

Me and Brett took a tour of Harmons on Saturday. It was pretty neat! Well worth the hour (although they could definitely make it shorter) They took us to each department and told us a little bit about it. At the end of the tour, they give each person $25 worth of food! And since me and Brett were both there, we got 2 bags! So basically $50 worth of food! This is what we got:

Bratwurst, baguette slices, watermelon, cheeseball, salsa, jam, quinoa, cheese, some chex mix stuff, and healthy chips! ALL TIMES 2!!
One of the things I have the hardest time spending money on is groceries. It's just SO darn expensive, so this is wonderful. I need to do this at each of the Harmons stores in the valley....

Me and Brett are doing an experiment. Seeing if it's cheaper to buy groceries, or to eat out at cheap places like subway, del taco, etc. We spent $80 last night grocery shopping. I hate it.

While we were on our tour, we saw cute Disney cupcakes, and I was shocked when I saw that they were only $5. Later in the day, I came home from my cheer banquet, and Brett surprised me with this:

He does so much to make me happy, I love him.
And I ate ALL of it, by myself. Definitely REDS on the MG chart.

I bought this desk about 8 months ago, from a guy I used to work with, not knowing it was going to be so HUGE! It barely fits in this room. We need to sell it, and get something much smaller. We're selling it for $250, and it comes with a chair!! Anyone want it?
5 1/2 feet tall. 2 feet wide. 7 feet long on each side.
6 pieces total.
Yeah, it's ginormous.
And the chair is VERY comfortable.

Best friends!

On Saturday, we had a fun, short night with our friends!! It didn't start until about 8:15, and I was SUPER late because of my cheer competition, so I didn't get home til about 9:15! But we had yummy snacks and played a couple of games.
Me and Brett really do have the best friends. We are so grateful for them. They are all, always a great example to us. I am always so happy being around them!

Happy 23rd Birthday to Brett

Yesterday, was Brett's 23rd Birthday!!! It was sort of . . . not very eventful. I had work all day, and we have absolutely no money, so there wasn't much to do. Brett came downtown to meet me at work, where he met my supervisors and manager. Then we ate dinner at the Lion House! Yummmm.

After that, we went to my parents house because they had a gift for him . . . .

Yes, he finally got a new phone! He has had his other phone for almost 2 years now, and it was getting pretty nasty. His iPod touch was stolen a couple months ago, so he deserved this. He is very excited!

Last weekend, we went to St. George/LasVegas with my sisters. It was a lot of fun, even though it was pouring rain!! We wanted to go to the St. George temple . . . but of course . . . it was closed. I swear that always happens to me.
Me and Savannah, getting ready to watch the Treasure Island pirate show!
Brett and Emma Jean Bean

Me and the Brett babe. And yes, denim shirts are back in! I used to wear these in 3rd grade!

On a completely different subject, I can't wait to read this:
It is her first book, an autobiography. I am not a reader AT ALL. But I love her, so I have to read this. It comes out the beginning of May!
