Paul Walker

He deserved a post. (especially after 3.5 months!)
I'm a huge Fast and Furious fan, and will miss seeing his pretty face in the new ones.
(But we mustn't forget that I first fell in love with him in She's All That! so classy, I know)

NASHVILLE, TN

A few weeks ago, I was the lucky winner on the radio to win a trip to Nashville and see Blake Shelton in concert!!! Hello! I am so grateful for my luck sometimes. Winning things on the radio is REAL people! It is not rigged!! (well, sometimes I think it is) But I have won enough on the radio to be a true believer in those contests! It's all about persistence!!!

Some of our activities in Nashville included:
  • The Hermitage (Andrew Jackson's home) - this was one of my favorite things. Absolutely beautiful.
  • Country Music Hall of Fame - this was NOT one of my favorite things, it was actually quite boring. The most exciting part was looking at all of Carrie Underwood's clothes.
  • Walking down Broadway Street
  • The Temple
  • Blake Shelton concert - we got to meet Jana Kramer before the concert!
  • Opry Mills mall (I think that's what it's called)
  • Driving around a cemetery for 1+ hours - it really was one of my favorite things!
  • Visiting Vanderbilt University
Some restaurants included:

Gorgeous George!
The dresses and boots. O_O
Brett had no problem sitting on the cement to watch some football. I on the other hand....
Seriously?! She's gorgeous.
Blake and Jana
1. I just did not understand the pyramid in this cemetery. Nonetheless, it was awesome!
2. Most ginormous caterpillar!!! It's Heimlich from A Bug's Life!

A VISIT FROM MY NIECES

I really am trying to be a regular blogger. Sometimes (all the time) my life is just so boring and the same things happen every day! There's not much to blog about other than what I eat and what workouts I did that current day!
So today as I was pondering what I could blog about, the only thing interesting that has happened lately is my cute nieces coming to Utah!

The girls were here for about 3 weeks! We were so lucky to have them. Oh how I wish they were my very own daughters! Alisha...don't be surprised if they disappear one of these days!

Savannah: I can't believe how grown up she is! She is the best big sister anyone could ever ask for. She is so sweet and always willing to help, loves helping me clean (so weird), and always wants to hang out with me. AND: She has the most beautiful, natural wavy hair I've ever seen. Taylor Swift should be jealous!

Emma: She doesn't like me very much. Well...I think she loves me, but she just loves to give me a hard time and bully me. It's okay. One day, she won't be a tomboy anymore, and she will want to go shopping with me.

Becca: Out of the 3, she was the first one that loved me when she was a baby! MIRACLE! She loves dresses and makeup and anything girly. She talks all of the time now, and has a hard time saying her "R"s just like I did!

SHAD & WHITNEY'S WEDDING:: iPHONE STYLE

Hopefully I'll be getting the more official photos soon, but here are all the photos I took from my phone at the wedding.

What a wonderful day this was! As far as I know, everything went so smoothly! This is the most beautiful wedding I have ever been to. Like, movie style, seriously. It's days like this that I wish I could relive over and over. :) Oh how I wish I could have another wedding of my own...with the same husband of course!

The day started out at the Salt Lake Temple. The spirit was so strong as these 2 were sealed together for all eternity! They have been in love since they were 15 years old, so it's about time this wedding happened! There were tears of joy coming from both of their families, especially parents.

Next up was the Reception:: aka the most amazing, most beautiful reception EVER. It was held at Thanksgiving Point. This was not your typical mormon reception...it was a fabulous dinner with an entire program put on by the Simons and Sommerville families. Brett gave a toast-amony. He is such a good speaker and seems so comfortable in front of large crowds. Good thing I was not asked to do anything, my introvert self cannot handle it: face goes bright red and I can barely get a word out! Maybe that's why I was put in charge of decorating the car...simple, with no one watching me. Score!

EAST CANYON 3

Our tradition of going to East Canyon and running the half marathon continues! This is the most relaxing trip of the summer...but obviously most exhausting at the same time! I am so grateful for the Prowse family, mama Luann and Grandpa Rex for always letting me and Brett crash their family time! The WHOLE family came this year, and it was so much fun to see all of the brothers together! It was my first time meeting Blandon, and his family. OH MY GOSH, his 2 boys are the CUTEST!! Every time I even looked at them, I grinned inside. They made me so happy!

And let's not forget Pearl...most perfect. daughter. ever.

The half marathon went so good! Kami did amazing (of course, she's superwoman!). I did 12 minutes better than last year! wahoo! I made a goal that the only times I would stop and walk were when I was going uphill, and I succeeded! (I hate going uphill, and there are a LOT of hills!)
Brett and Blaine both ran the 10k, and killed it! Seriously, why are boys good at everything?! not fair.

Here are some more pictures from East Canyon!

LAS VEGAS:: SPRING 2013

I realize that fall is almost here. I know. I'm super behind on blogging. I also realize that I've said that 5679812 times. UGH! Come on Ann.
Who even reads my blog anymore? I know Kami does, and sometimes Blaine, because they get after me when it's been too long without a post! Brett reads the blog when he's checking up on me, (haha, he doesn't want to be embarrassed, cute husband).
Maybe Grandma Marty in California still looks at my blog? hello?

anyways....

This past spring we were able to go to Las Vegas to celebrate Blainey's 25th birthday! It was such a fun little trip! We stayed at Treasure Island, spent time at the pool, ate at some yummy restaurants (and some not so yummy restaurants::Rainforest), saw Cirque du Soleil KA, and shopped! (Nike store, duh! And LuLuLemon for Kam)

I wish I had some more pictures...mainly of the crazy people on the strip. It is always SO SHOCKING to see what some people are wearing and doing. Luckily I had my sunglasses on most of the time so they couldn't see my staring eyes!

TRAX FROM MY iPHONE

For anyone that regularly takes trax, it is always quite the adventure! In the winter it's freezing if you have to switch trains, in the summer I swear I can smell everyone's b.o., especially if the AC isn't working. bleh! And occasionally you'll get the crazy person that talks to themselves!
Some of these pictures are sad, some happy, and some funny. Welcome to my life!

 Left:: Notice the temperature.
Right:: And...there's people sleeping in that spot almost every night.  zzzzz, brrrr!

Left:: BOY sitting on GIRL'S lap. there were plenty of seats to spare.
Right:: A train accident happened on the same day a thousand missionaries decided
to take a trip to SLC. It was a loooong night back to Provo for them!

Top:: Staring at this view every day.
Bottom:: this was my favorite picture I sent to Brett.

Left:: This boy is always so tired. Or maybe he's always praying?
Right:: A boy was wearing these cute slippers...yes, a BOY. Notice the cute skinnies too.

Left:: I really wished I had a pair of socks in my purse, sincerely. I felt so bad!
Right:: Why has no one thought of this?! Glue soles to the bottom of your socks! so comfy!

Cute young women! Getting ready to jump in the air simultaneously!

The revealing of the dress!!

I think this was the only snowy day I appreciated this winter. So beautiful!

Shad is home!

Well, 2 years came and went pretty darn fast! For me anyways (sorry Whit). Shad came home from Frankfurt Germany on April 13, and we are so happy to have him back! Brett has been missing his good friend so much. Every night before we went to bed these last 2 years, Brett would say, "Shad should be waking up about now."

This day took me back to so many memories almost 4 years ago when Brett came home (what a glorious day that was!). It was so interesting to be on this side of a missionary coming home, and getting to watch his lovely girlfriend go through the same thing. You did it Whit, it's finally over!!

It's been so fun having Shad's contagious, happy personality around. Welcome home Shad!!!

I attempted to be the 'videographer' for the day. I was hoping it would turn out something like this or this (password elderclayton). HAHA! Boy was I fooling myself! I didn't do such a great job:
  • Please ignore the very yellow-ness of the video. baaaad camera setting that I will never use again. Lesson learned.
  • Also ignore the shaky black borders that are happening. They came with stabilizing the videos and I don't know how to fix it.
  • If anyone knows of an awesome video editing free download, please share. I would love to fix the color, and the stupid, black, shaky borders. The best I found was NCH VideoPad editor, but I couldn't handle how choppy it made everything. Help?!
Now, after I just talked down my video taking skills, please look at what a happy day this was!

Need a healthy snack?

I've told many people this...but lately, I'm a little obsessed with the MMandLShow on Youtube. These two are hilarious. I wish I would've loved Michelle Money more when she was actually on the bachelor. I just didn't get her humor back then, but now, I find her hysterical!

I've gotten a few great tips from these ladies! One tip has to be shared, I'm obsessed:
Lesbihonest...I've always had the hardest time eating veggies just plain. It would just be SO much easier if I could smother them in ranch dressing!!! But no, that's extremely fatty. So this alternative has changed my life. I'm able to mix the yogurt and powder quickly at work, bring whatever veggies from my Bountiful Basket, and snack away! SO YUMMY!!! This healthy snack was too good for me not to share!
