Snow day!

We have been getting some awesome snow the past couple weeks! It's been about....7 or 8 years since I had been sledding on this awesome hill in Riverton. So we got bundled up and bought some sleds!

We bought Teagan a bright snow suit from Costco (gender neutral to fit Austin in a couple years!) And we can thank Aunt Kristen for her cute hat!

Going up this hill is quite the workout itself, then add a Teagan on top of your shoulders!

Utah is simply beautiful! I never want to leave!

November Stories (Welcome baby Austin)

We knew baby Austin would probably be arriving before Thanksgiving, so Brett agreed that we could decorate for Christmas early!

Teagan has been pretty addicted to her youtube videos lately. It's driving me crazy! But sometimes, I'm happy to let her watch them if that's what it takes to keep her from throwing her fits. :)

I went in for an ultrasound at 36 weeks so they could try to measure this big baby boy! Sure enough, he measured at 8 pounds!!!

I was induced at 38 weeks!

I was thrilled to be getting this baby out of me so I didn't have to be pregnant anymore!

Baby Austin (luckily) only weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces! YAY!
I couldn't believe all of that dark hair!

Just making my heart melt.

Teagan meeting baby brother for the first time. It seems all she wanted to do was touch his eyes. :/

But she loves him dearly. Always randomly giving him kisses and hugs, which also involves sometimes laying on top of him!

Poor baby Austin had jaundice. It was hard not being able to snuggle him for those few days!

One night of sleeping on the couch, next to Austin on his light bed, I woke up to Brett talking to Teagan. I ran in the room to see her covered in vomit. She had thrown up, and rolled in it. Laundry and bath time in the middle of the night! (Notice the bowl next to me, in case she needed to throw up again.)

I don't have any pictures of Thanksgiving. It was quite possibly the worst holiday ever. Brett was throwing up ALL NIGHT LONG. I maybe got 2 hours of sleep. I took the kids to my parents for lunch, leaving Brett home, which was just plain sad, because Thanksgiving is his favorite holiday. I couldn't stop crying from exhaustion, and luckily snuck away with Teagan to take a 1 hour nap.
I am so grateful that me and little Austin didn't get sick! Let's pray it stays that way for the rest of this cold/flu season!

September & October Stories

Here is a little collage of the randomness on my phone from September and October! Because there is no way to blog these pictures individually.

Labor Day weekend: After a minor mixup with our condo calendar in Midway, the whole Sommerville family ended up staying at the Marina at Stawberry Reservoir. It was such a fun weekend!

Crawdad fishing!

We sort of forgot Teagan's life jacket. So she had to wear one that was a tad too big!

Target. Who doesn't love Target? Whenever we see cute headbands while shopping, Teagan likes to wear them around the store.

We have a new foster cousin! Abby and Mike got a cute little boy that is only a month younger than Teagan. And we all just love him!

We are preparing to potty train in December! Hoping that we don't completely torture our child all at once, we decided to put her in a toddler bed before putting her in big girl panties. It was a rough week, especially when she wakes up with some cough attacks (poor girl can't get rid of this cold). But I think it's getting better and better!

We finally found Teagan a coat from Target! (duh!) She loves wearing it around the house.

Instead of trying to carve pumpkins, this year, we decided to paint them!

Every time we come home, Teagan likes to say hi to our pumpkins!

Grandpa Dean, Brett and Teagan went fishing up at Strawberry (we remembered Teagan's life jacket this time).

Brett and Teagan came to visit me after work, and we showed Teagan how to throw pennies into the reflection pond. She almost fell in a few different times.

While Brett was reffing one Saturday, I took Teagan outside to play on the swings and slides! We were out there for almost 2 hours! She threw a minor fit when I finally took her back inside.
But--this was her first time that she's gone down all of these slides by herself! She was in HEAVEN!

I love looking up and seeing Teagan doing things like this. It makes me so happy that she loves her Disney princesses as much as I do! (don't mind the messy house in the background!)

We went to the pumpkin patch with our dear friends, the Godfreys! I couldn't just choose one picture, so here are a few to document the evening!

These two are the cutest little friends!

Brett and I went to Garth Brooks for my birthday! This was Brett's favorite concert he's ever been to. For me...Garth is tied with Shania!

Teagan got a cold on the day of Halloween! Not even 2 weeks after she got rid of her last one! GRRRR! So...needless to say, there were quite a few fits being thrown this day. I'm surprised I was able to get her entire head sprayed black for her Snow White costume! Here is cute daddy Brett, helping her with her cape.

We went trick or treating with all of her cousins on the Peterson side! Don't they all look so excited? I had to disguise "Charlie Brown's" face, we're not allowed to show foster kid's faces on the internet. I promise his face is so cute!!

I could've saved a lot more if we had done carryons instead of checking our luggage. But I've never been a light packer, and traveling with a child is still sort of new to me. So I wasn't taking any chances. But if we were light packers, we could've saved $160. Shoot. That's a lot of money.

It was sort of funny, when we spoke with the employees at the front desks of these hotels.
"So you're staying here for 1 night?"
But to be honest, I loved hotel hopping to see what they all have to offer!

Everything I've learned about credit cards, I've learned from my friend Amanda, and from World Wanderlusting. Traveling for free is possible!! And if you are responsible (aka a control freak about money), then you should be signing up for these perks that credit cards are offering!

Hawaii - Part 3 (Big Island)

After 2 nights on Maui, we flew over to the Big Island to meet Brett's family. We picked up our amazing rental car--a Nissan Pathfinder. Oh Nissan, I just love you. Especially after driving in that horrific Ford.
Then we headed to the condo! (Dean's friend gave us an awesome deal!)

We didn't really have anything planned for this part of the vacation. It was mainly just a lot of relaxing which was so nice, since I had jam-packed our schedule on Oahu and Maui. are some pictures from our week on the Big Island!

The beach that was just a few minutes walk from the condo! (I'm not sure what Brett and Van are looking at...)

We went to Haunanau Bay, also known as "Two Step," because you basically take two steps down these rocks to get into the beautiful snorkeling water! This "beach" wasn't the best though. Lots of rock, not a lot of shade.

These people behind Brett are where you go down the "two steps."

The west side of the island is completely different than the east side...which you'll see in just a moment.

They were surrounded by 5 turtles at one point!

My face is pretty ugly in this picture, but I had to post it because just LOOK at Teagan! Oh she cracks me up!

Although they tried really hard to get everything ready to scuba still didn't end up working out. There was a leak...or something... I don't know. Maybe next time!

Welcome to the East side of the island!! Completely opposite from the lava rock side.

Gigantic leaves!

Brett has a dream of making a book, full of hundreds of different pictures of basketball hoops. So here is his first addition to that book.

I was surprised how much I liked coconut water. It would've been yummier had it been cold. (Random: Did anyone see this lady on Snapchat the other day?! I was so excited that I could say "I've been there!")
The pineapples were $15!!! No thanks...(although her sample was delicious!)

And, here ends our Hawaii trip. :( :( :(
One big regret I have: Not visiting the Kona Temple. It was right there. We had plenty of time, but I let my laziness take over. And who knows if we'll ever go back to the Big Island. :( :(

After visiting the 3 islands, I think Oahu is my favorite. It's so hard though, because every island has something different to offer.
I'm so glad we got to go! It's so fun to explore parts of this world with Brett and learn new things. I can't wait for our next adventure. I've got more hotel points and airline miles to spare, so I better use them before Teagan turns 2 and we have to start buying her a seat!
