Till We Meet Again, Grandpa Burl

I know I very recently posted some of these pictures on here, but one more time, I just want to say how grateful I am that Teagan could meet her Great Grandpa Burl before he passed away. Also glad that Brett and I made the effort to fly out there to see him, since we have only been there one other time in our marriage.
He died on Sunday, January 25, surrounded by his 4 children.
Till we meet again Grandpa! We love you!

Day 4: Thanksgiving in California

This was one of the best days of my entire life. I'm being serious! I read a blog called (my favorite blog of all time. Even Brett is sometimes interested in her family's adventures), and she took her family on a vacation to San Francisco, and did a fun bike day. So I kind of copied her.

Riding our bikes around the city was such a dream. Everything is so unbelievably beautiful. It was supposed to rain that day, but we got sooo lucky and were inside the Ferry Building while it was raining.

I found this photo online, and memorized it! It was so helpful since I had never been to San Francisco. I carried it around with me everywhere.

We rented our bikes from Sports Basement. 1-They are super close to Golden Gate bridge and 2- they had a little baby seat we could put on the bike for Teagan. It was actually an awesome store, it reminded me a lot of Sports Authority.

I have to share how smart I am. I didn't realize at first that there were gears on my bike. I was on gear #5, riding up the steepest hill ever! Brett got up the hill just fine! I was thinking in my head, there is no way I'll be able to do this all day! I ended up walking my bike up the rest of the hill because I was so out of breath. At the top of the hill, I finally realized that I was on the hardest gear. Thankfully, the rest of the day was easy peasy.

We ended up taking Teagan's helmet off of her. It was a bit too big to begin with, and it ended up just falling in front of her face. I trusted Brett's bike riding skillz to keep her safe!

Teagan was amazing the entire day. The bike was weird for her, for about 2 seconds. But once the bike started going, she was in Heaven!

We crossed the bridge, and followed the signs to Sausalito for the Ferry!

Look at that! Another Sommerville Road!
I wish we had more time to explore Sausalito. There were trees everywhere, with houses hidden in between. There were the cutest shops lining the street on the way to the ferry.

She was SOOO hungry!

Sad we didn't have enough time to go to Alcatraz. It looked cool from the Ferry though! Maybe next time!

Don't mind the annoyed guy I stepped in front of.

Ew! (in my best Jimmy Fallon voice)

Poor Teagy. We had to create a pillow for her to rest her head on.

I this not one of the best things in the entire world?!

Chinatown was definitely interesting. It took me a few minutes to get over the overwhelming smell and chaos that was happening.

I'd waaaay rather have Panda Express.

Nothing much on Day 5. Just headed home in the rain!

I wish we would've had one more day to spend. We missed out on Alcatraz, exploring Sausalito. Brett wanted to see the ATT stadium, and I wanted to see the Disney Family Museum. They are on my list for the next time we go!

Day 3: Thanksgiving in California

We left Fresno early Friday morning, to make the drive to San Francisco! We didn't have any specific plans for this day, just sort of driving around and getting the feel for the area. Our first stop: Alamo Square.

Yes, a poopy diaper needed immediate changing! And the bathrooms were nasty. The muddy grass was much more sanitary.

Name that show! Hint: "Everywhere you look, there's a heart, a hand to hold on to."

Whitney Sommerville: this place reminded me of you! All of the fun dress up clothes were just screaming your name!

First time for Teagy at the beach!

Thanks to Amanda for giving us some swim diapers! (She doesn't fit into her swimsuit yet)
Teagan absolutely HATED swimming. Screamed bloody murder when Brett came up out of the water. I guess we'll try again this summer!
