Strawberry Reservoir Fishing

Grandpa Dean was so nice to take the grandkids fishing! Brett and I tagged along as well! ;) These adventures are sometimes rough, especially when the kids outnumber the adults! By the end of the day, we were absolutely exhausted. But I love the memories we're making with our kids and the opportunities they are experiencing.

We woke up really early, and it was FREEZING when we got there!

We climbed on top of the boat, and Teagan was posing for me like she was a Carter's model!

This is what her handstands look like. Look at that pointed toe!

I was the first one to catch a fish! Definitely the biggest fish I've ever caught.

Brett was next!

Then Ava caught a fish, but unfortunately, it got away. She was very sad about it.

Then Brett caught a crawdad.

We snacked on Asian Pears from Grandpa's backyard.

Oz was such a good boy trapped on that boat!

The relationship between these two is clearly visible in this picture. Teagan loves her Grandpa Dean.

And of course, we ended the day with some crawdad fishing. Because we love it.

August and September Stories

Whew! I better document the past couple of months before October slips through my fingers!

But before I do that, I need some help. I was messing with some HTML stuff on this blog, and in the middle of it, ALL of the blogs that I follow got deleted. :( :( :(
I could only remember a handful of the links. So please, leave a comment, or text me, or message me, and tell me your blog address so I can add it. I love staying up to date with everyone.

The very beginning of August, we took a quick trip to St. George. I had a free night at a Marriott hotel that was expiring, so of course we couldn't let that go to waste! It was niiiiice and hot there, so we spent a lot of our time in the pool.

This hot tub was HUGE!

We spent some more time in Midway and Deer Creek.

Does anyone else love these giant bears at Costco as much as we do?!

We went to church in our new ward! I couldn't resist a bathroom selfie when there was a full body mirror in there, and when my bear is looking as cute as he is.

I mean...I just can't get enough of his little white shirt and tie!

I FINALLY saw the Newsies! I was so disappointed when I couldn't get tickets back in June, so when I heard they were coming for one more weekend in August, I had to make it happen! Now Brett is always listening to songs from the Newsies on YouTube. :)

Brett and I took ourselves on an anniversary date (7 years!). We went to the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, and did the ropes course. We had such a good time!

The Sommerville gals (minus Robyne) attended the General Women's Session.

Swiss Days

I got a little behind again.

Well, it wouldn't be a proper Labor Day weekend without going to Swiss Days in Midway. I've been to Swiss Days every year since 2010, and I don't plan on breaking that tradition anytime soon! I absolutely love it, from the giant scones, to the crowds, to the cold morning air, to the hot afternoons.

I've gone to Swiss Days by myself before (which is actually how I prefer to do it, I can get so much done!) But this year, I went with my mom and sisters, and brought Teagan and Austin along since Brett was reffing.

The little details in Midway are so beautiful. We had to stop and pose for a couple pictures.

I wasn't joking about the giant scones. Would you believe me if I told you they used to be even bigger?!

Watching the parade!

Teagan had a blast playing in the hammocks. (They were a bit overpriced. Hammocks from Mexico are MUCH cheaper!)

Austin did such a good job in the stroller all day. Sometimes, I am surprised at how well my kids do in atmospheres like this. It's like...the people watching distracts them, and makes them forget to cry and throw fits. :)

Towards the end, when I picked Oz up to give him a break, Teagan crawled right in to take a nap!

Thank you Midway for another successful Swiss Days!
